Library Closed System Upgrade 1

A Note from the Director:

We have some exciting news—we’re getting a new online catalog, and you’re going to love it!

The Old Colony Library Network (OCLN) is migrating to a new library system that will go live on Thursday, April 30. This upgrade will not only improve staff efficiency, but also provide a significantly enhanced catalog experience for patrons.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • From Monday, April 27 through Wednesday, April 29, our catalog, holds, and account features will be offline. Sandwich Public Library will be closed during this time.
  • Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy will be unavailable during the migration; however, anything you’ve already downloaded will remain accessible.
  • Museum pass reservations will be paused.
  • If you have a hold expiring in Libby, it will be automatically suspended. Please check your account on April 30 to unsuspend it.
  • When logging in to the new catalog, please note that any letters in your PIN will be converted to uppercase.

We will have a delayed opening at 1 PM on Thursday, April 30, when the new system goes live. During the closure, staff will be working behind the scenes to rearrange collections, refresh spaces, and participate in training.

We encourage you to visit the week of April 21 to pick up holds and stock up on books and DVDs.

We truly appreciate your patience as we make this important upgrade. The new catalog will offer improved search capabilities and easier account management, making browsing and borrowing simpler than ever.
