The Trustees of the Sandwich Public Library announce the Sponsor a Sunday fundraising campaign. Budget reductions would have resulted in the library being closed on Sunday afternoons. In 2010, the Friends of the Sandwich Public Library, through a series of fundraisers, were able to restore Sunday hours. For 2011, we are asking members of the community to contribute to keep their library open on Sundays. Our campaign has been successful, but we are still looking for your support. If you've borrowed a DVD or picked up a good read or settled down in a comfy chair to read the Sunday papers, you know how valued Sunday library services are for students, families and commuters. From October 2010 to March 2011, 10,953 visits were made to the library on Sundays when it was open. That's a lot of homework being done, papers getting written, books being borrowed, service being provided, and sense of community being built. Businesses, community and civic groups, families and individuals have stepped up to the plate and have contributed to the Sponsor a Sunday fundraiser.
