NEW DOWNLOADABLE BOOKS FOR YOUR E-READER!
Introducing Freading, a new downloadable e-book service for Sandwich Public Library cardholders. E-books are available to users simultaneously without any waiting lists. Devices compatible with Freading include any computer, Amazon Kindle Fire (other Kindle models currently do not work with Freading), Barnes & Noble Nook, Apple iPad and iPhone, Android tablets and smartphones, Kobo e-reader and Sony Reader. Freading applications are available to download in the Apple's App Store and the Android Marketplace.
Every Monday you are given 5 download tokens. Each e-book download uses between 1 and 4 tokens. The amount required is shown in the upper left hand corner of the book cover. Freading e-books check out for 2 weeks but can be renewed for another two weeks. Renewals for newer titles cost 1 token, but older books renew without using a token. For more information, please visit the Freading FAQ page.
SUNDAYS RETURN with NEW HOURS. February 12th ~ Henry T. Wing School PTA February 19th ~ Forestdale School PTA February 26th ~ Oak Ridge School PTA
We are pleased to announce that Sunday openings resumed on October 16th ~ 12 Noon to 4:00pm ~ as a result of our Sponsor-a-Sunday campaign. Individual patrons and businesses have answered the call and are sponsoring the costs to open the library on Sunday. These donors will be acknowledged within the library and on the library's website. However, we have not reached our final goal so that we may remain open throughout the spring. If you'd like to help us continue our Sunday hours by contributing to our Sponsor-a-Sunday campaign, please send your donation to the library or contact the library at 508-888-0625.
OUR THANKS TO OUR THREE K-8 SCHOOL PTAs FOR SPONSORING THE FOLLOWING SUNDAYS
Join the Second Century Club
We're almost there! We need 45 more members to complete our goals of 100 contributing members to the Second Century Club!
More than a century ago Sophia H. and William H.H. Weston bequeathed to the town of Sandwich a sum of money to purchase land and erect a library building. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Weston Memorial Library building. As we enter our second century of service to the community, we invite you to continue the legacy of philanthropic support and community participation begun by the Westons. We need your help to keep our beloved library the vital institution is was meant to be. Your $100 contribution to the Second Century Club will ensure that the Sandwich Public library continues to offer a multitude of services to enrich, entertain and educate you, your family and the community.
