Friends of the Sandwich Library Welcome
Hey, thanks for stopping by the Friend’s Page! We’re glad you’re checking us out. The Friends exist because we love the Library and what it provides for all of us, and we’re glad to help with and sponsor a lot of what happens here.
One of our projects is helping the Trustees raise funds through the Second Century Club. In August the Friends and Trustees held a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the dedication of the Library. Over 300 people joined together for music, games, facepainting, cake, and yes, speeches. It was a glorious day and everyone had a grand time. This Library began with a donation from Sophia and William Weston to purchase land and erect the building, with the remaining funds to be used to support the Library. As we enter our second century of service to the community, you are invited to continue the legacy of philanthropic support and community participation begun by the Westons. Your donation of $100 will help the library offset operational costs as we enter our second century of service to the community.
You can make your donation online or by sending your check to: Friends of the Sandwich Public Library, Second Century Club, 142 Main St., Sandwich MA 02563. Please make your check payable to the Friends of the Sandwich Pubic Library.
As always...we greatly appreciate your support.
Here's what else we do.....We sponsor author visits, book discussions, poetry, music, craft, cultural, and film programs throughout the year for every age group. We purchase passes for many museums and attractions on and off Cape for your use. We provide funding for furnishings, equipment and devices that are available on loan and within our walls.
Friends also volunteer our time to assist the library staff with various duties. If you’d like to help with that, just let us know.
The Board of the Friends appreciates the support and contributions from all our patrons and friends. Our web page gives you more information about our various projects. Hope you find what you’re looking for.
Gail Zeltman Ravetz , Pres. of the Board
